The Mormon Tabernacle Choir will perform Handel’s Messiah on Good Friday, March 25, 2016 as a way to celebrate the birth, life, death and resurrection of Christ during the Easter weekend. The choir will be joined by a full orchestra and four soloists from the Metropolitan Opera, This concert will be held in the Tabernacle on Temple Square and the last time they performed this sacred work in 2014, the tickets sold out in 7 minutes! This time the Mormon Tabernacle Choir chose to find a way that more can enjoy this beautiful concert and will be live streaming the concert on March 25, 2016 as a world-wide sing-along celebration of the life of our Savior.
You can watch the concert at home if you like, (http://www.mormontabernaclechoir.org/messiah.html), but it will also be available to watch live streaming at the Katy Stake Center that same evening. The pre-concert feed will begin at 8:00 pm and the full concert will follow at 8:30 pm and will last over 2 hours. Words to these sacred songs will be provided and the audience will be invited to sing along with the choir.
